Making Progress with Potty Training

Remy's daycare shuts down for the first two weeks of August and I arranged to not travel for those two weeks with the objective of getting Kiddo into big boy pants.
We tried to potty the July long weekend with not so great results. We re-evaluated our approach and despite our plan not to use rewards, we are using rewards, with success. It seems Remy just needed some extra motivation. For each successful pee, he earns two Hershey Kisses and for a successful poop, he earns himself a character car from the movie CARS. (Thank goodness we had a huge supply of those!) Remy has been accident free for 5 days and has succesfully done a BM in the pot twice!
I'm very happy that he'll go back to daycare on Monday and not be in underwear. Overall, this was not a hard process. I'm glad we waited for him to be more mature. I think it helped with his ability to understand the urge to pee and he now goes on his own or asks us to help when necessary.
